Our youth faith formation program at Holy Rosary provides opportunities for children and teens to grow in their faith through instruction in Catholic beliefs and traditions, participation in prayer and an understanding of how to live their faith each day.

Formation in the Faith is the best gift we can hand down to our children. At their child’s Baptism, each parent accepts the responsibility of training their child in the practice of the faith. The Church teaches that the parent’s role in the formation of Christian values in their children is irreplaceable. Our program aims to help parents in their responsibility to pass down the teachings of Jesus revealed through His church.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLW) take place on Sundays during the 9:00 am Mass (fall, winter and spring) and the 10:00 am Mass (summer). After the opening prayer, the priest invites the children to come forward to the center aisle.
The catechist leads the children to the Parish Living Room where they will hear their own Liturgy of the Word proclaimed from the Children’s Lectionary.  Children are taught a simplified main message of the readings and are encouraged to share that message with their parents after Mass. After the Prayers of the Faithful, all children return to their families for the Liturgy of the Eucharist.

Classes are held weekly on Wednesday evenings during the school year from 6:30 – 7:45 pm. Our curriculum gives children a solid foundation of the Catholic faith and provides them with an opportunity to know and love Jesus Christ. Please read on about the materials that we use for the elementary grade levels!
