Children’s Liturgy of The Word for ages 4 – 2nd Grade
Children ages 4 through 2nd grade are welcome to participate in Children’s Liturgy of the Word on Sunday mornings during the 9:00am Mass. After the Opening Prayer, children are brought to the Parish Living Room where we listen to God’s Word proclaimed from the Children’s Lectionary and wonder and learn together what Jesus is trying to teach us in the readings. Children return to the assembly at the Offertory. Children’s Liturgy of the Word is offered from September through April/May.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd for ages 3-6

Wednesday Evening Faith Formation for Kindergarten- 5th grade Families
We are excited to announce that in the Fall of 2026, our parish will be offering a new model of Faith Formation on Wednesday evenings for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade and their families called, “A Family of Faith”. “A Family of Faith” is Family Faith Formation. Children and their families will come together two Wednesday evenings a month at Holy Rosary for Faith Formation.
The responsibility of a parish is to engage, support and equip families to pass on the faith to their children. Family Faith Formation will help our parish do this better because it will serve as a bridge between the home and the Church. Family Faith Formation is designed to:
· Accompany families through the process of faith formation.
· Equip families to strengthen the Domestic Church (your home where faith is first learned and experienced).
· Guide and support families to live out the liturgical year in their home.
· Facilitate encounters with Jesus Christ, through prayer and the sacraments.
· Connect families with each other and with the Church.
First Reconciliation and First Eucharist
In the 2nd grade year, children prepare for and receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist (Holy Communion.) Preparation for these sacraments will take place at Holy Rosary on eight Wednesday evenings throughout the school year for parents and their 2nd grade child. First Reconciliation is celebrated during Advent and First Holy Communion is celebrated after Easter.
